Supporting Blue Mountains to help communities thrive

Some projects are about infrastructure. Others are about place.

We’re proud to be supporting Blue Mountains City Council in the delivery of projects across Katoomba, Hazelbrook, Blaxland, Glenbrook and the Lapstone Hill Tunnel precinct.

These projects will help improve accessibility, strengthen town centres, celebrate local heritage and create welcoming spaces for communities to connect and thrive.

The projects include:

• Katoomba Town Centre Upgrade, improving public spaces, accessibility, outdoor dining, landscaping, lighting, public art and heritage interpretation within the Katoomba Street precinct.

• Hazelbrook Village Upgrade, creating a safer, more accessible and welcoming village centre through improved paths, crossings, seating, landscaping, public art and cultural and heritage interpretation.

• Blaxland Town Centre Upgrade, renewing the Station Street pedestrian mall as a greener, more accessible and vibrant place for community connection, local activity and events.

• Glenbrook Village Upgrade, improving access, parking, walking and cycling connections, public spaces and connections to Glenbrook Park and nearby reserves.

• Lapstone Hill Tunnel, supporting work around one of the Blue Mountains’ significant hidden heritage assets and its potential future as a destination for walking, cycling, recreation, heritage and community events.

• Active Transport Links across the Blue Mountains, helping create safer and more connected walking and cycling routes between town centres, transport, schools, parks and community facilities.

These are much more than civil works. They are placemaking projects that can improve accessibility and safety, support local businesses, celebrate the distinctive identity and heritage of each location, and create welcoming places where communities can meet, connect and spend time.

Thank you to Blue Mountains City Council for the opportunity. We’re looking forward to contributing to some of the region’s most important placemaking initiatives.
